Assorted heirloom varieties, grown using organic practices in Hakalau at Emerging World Farm
Heirloom tomatoes are not as shelf-stable as other commercial varieties and are best eaten soon after purchase. Many also keep a fair amount of their green color, even when perfectly ripe. A ripe tomato will be slightly soft to the touch, with a deep hue to its red, purple, or yellow sections.
