What does "Locavore" mean?

What does "Locavore" mean?

-

+

A "locavore" is someone who primarily eats foods that are grown or produced locally. This movement emphasizes supporting local farmers and businesses, reducing carbon footprints, and enjoying fresher, more nutritious produce. By focusing on locally sourced foods, locavores aim to promote sustainability and strengthen local economies.

When we say local, we mean grown or produced by Hawai‘i residents with primary ingredients, materials, and inspiration from Hawai‘i. By this definition, we proudly offer a 100% local selection of products.

With that in mind, given the cultural, economic, and geographic reality of living in the islands, the status of “local” can often be contextual and complex. That’s why, for us, talking story with creators is the best way to understand the origins of our products.

Are your products locally sourced?

Even our value-added products are crafted with the utmost care, ensuring that they meet our high standards by being primarily comprised of locally sourced ingredients and materials.
