I Ka Ua Farm in Hilo, Hawaii, is the vision of Amanda Cox, a U.S. Army veteran who discovered her calling in agriculture after a 15-year military career. Transitioning to civilian life brought her back to her roots—literally—where she now cultivates fresh produce and creates innovative, sustainable products. Drawing on her upbringing in farming and her passion for the land, Amanda has developed a line of ginger and turmeric powders that repurpose juicing pulp into fine, flavorful blends.

Amanda's journey into farming was supported by Hoʻola Farms, an agricultural training program for veterans. Through this program, she honed her skills and connected with like-minded producers, such as Megan Brady, whose collaboration inspired Amanda’s signature "Nativ Blends." The powders are milled from ginger and turmeric sourced from local farms, embodying a commitment to reducing food waste and celebrating the island's abundance.
