$3.49/lb | Grown using organic practices at the Ward homestead in Kurtistown.

Mt. Apple are medium-sized fruits with pink to dark red skin and perfectly white flesh. The darker the skin color, the riper and sweeter the fruit. Mt. Apple are one of the few fruits grown in Hawai'I with an edible skin. The skin is extremely thin and is easily damaged, making these fruits challenging to harvest and transport.

Mt. Apple are different than Wax Jambu, Water Apple, and Wax Apple, which stay crispy in texture and sour in flavor. Best eaten fresh, Mt. Apple are ready to eat when the skin is fully red. They have a slightly floral fragrance, juicy, pear-lik texture and mild, but sweet, rose flavor. Extremely refreshing and enjoyable. Can also be used to make a beautiful and tasty "applesauce".
